I saved a puppy from a fire

It was a Tuesday. The kind of Tuesday that changes a man.
I was reviewing my tax incentive policy briefs when I smelled smoke. Across the street, a small fire had broken out in a neighbor's garage — and inside, a eight-week-old golden retriever puppy named Mr. Fluffington was trapped behind a riding lawnmower.
Without hesitation, I did what any future Town Councilperson would do: I sprinted across the street, tripped over a garden hose, rolled directly through a flowerbed, stood up covered in mulch, and kicked the garage door open like I had been training for this moment my entire Cornell education.
I emerged thirty seconds later, puppy in arms, eyebrows slightly singed, dignity largely intact.
Mr. Fluffington licked my face. A neighbor cheered. Someone said "that guy should run for office."
Reader, I was already running for office.
The point is: when Ithaca needs someone to act fast, stay calm under pressure, and occasionally sacrifice their eyebrows for the greater good — Jacob Spiegel shows up.
Vote Spiegel. He will absolutely find your puppy.
